Alz Dance Advocates mission is to shine a compassionate light on the profound emotional toll that Alzheimer’s disease takes on individuals and families across our region. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the challenges faced not only by those living with Alzheimer’s, but also by the devoted caregivers who give so much of themselves—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—to ensure their loved ones are supported and cared for with dignity.
Through the power of community events, dance, and creative expression, we strive to spark meaningful conversations, break down stigma, and build bridges of understanding. Our goal is to inspire hope, increase education, and strengthen the network of resources available to families impacted by Alzheimer’s.
Above all, Alz Dance Advocates is committed to celebrating the moments that matter, honoring the courage of those on this journey, and moving together—step by step—toward a future filled with greater compassion, awareness, and support.

This Chapter has a new name: “USA Dance LA Gumbo Chapter 5031,SE Louisiana” . After suffering from the Covid era, a new Board of Directors will be installed in January 2025. Dolores Dufour, Janice Barrios, James Heath and I will be part of that Board of Directors along with its President Kerry Lovell.
The goals for next year will include
- Beefing up membership and recruiting committee members,

 - Expanding the geographic reach to all of Southeast
     Louisiana,
 - Providing information about area dance events,
     programs, and gatherings, and
 - Reaching out with dance programs throughout our schools
     and communities.

Please consider joining Chapter #5031 so you can be included in the exciting future we are planning! You can also find membership applications and more national information at usadance.org and join our local Facebook Group “USA Dance LA Gumbo Chapter 5031, SE Louisiana.”
